Outsourcing - still a growing business

In The Netherlands, 76% of large companies have already outsourced their ICT’s; 62% outsourced to at least 3 different suppliers. Already 29% of these companies also outsourced one or more of their business processes to specialist companies.*

IT Outsourcing

In the beginning, companies mostly outsourced their ICT’s to just one supplier. Today they are more inclined to choose multi-sourcing, meaning the division of several components to a number of suppliers. Compelling reasons for this choice are a reduced dependency on one supplier, more flexibility and access to ‘best of breed’ expertise.

In order to truly manage demand and supply, companies now extend their focus on the organization and the processes around it. The remaining part of the ICT-organization becomes the so-called ‘Governance Organization’.

Business Process Outsourcing

In order to stay competitive, companies today focus on their core business process and outsource all non-core processes. Everyday business practice shows however, that not only HR services or facilities, but also customer services and delivery processes are being outsourced to specialized companies. The core business therefore increasingly depends on the outsourced processes as well.
These business processes must not be seen separately. Many of them are part of a larger service and even of the core business of your company. A sound understanding of the quality of the process components becomes much more important.
